Power system engineer
Location: Chennai, India, HQ
Industry: Renewable Energy – Solar PV, Wind, and Hybrid Power Plants
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in modeling and simulating power systems using PSS/E, PSCAD, and Digsilent PowerFactory
• Support EMS/PPC/HPPC application engineering and configuration
• Perform grid compliance and interconnection studies
• Develop and maintain Power Plant SCADA and Energy Management Systems (EMS)
• Collaborate using Agile/Scrum methodologies via Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Communicate with internal stakeholders, utility/grid operators, and customers to gather requirements and present findings
• Perform unit and integration testing, ensuring documentation and QA reports are up to standard
• Use Git for version control (branching, merging, and conflict resolution following best practices)
• Participate in site commissioning and customer support when required
Preferred Attributes:
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
• Previous internship or project experience in renewable energy or power systems is a plus
• Familiarity with grid interconnection regulations and compliance will be an added advantage
